How many performances? Maybe at the first performance everyone should
play cold. That might change the director's mind after he hears what not
warming-up does to instruments' intonation. It sounds like this director has
no recollection of being at the performance of an orchestra or any other
musical production. The musicians always warm up. Did you say community
theater? Next time, just say no!
