And I am delighted that Jim, as well as many other fine clarinetists, are
now using the C clarinet.

When I first joined this list maybe 20 years ago -- I forget -- hardly
anyone used or even wanted or tried a C clarinet. They simply transposed
onto a B-flat clarinet as if that was the only solution to the problem.

Now, more and more orchestras are insisting on or supplying their players
with C instruments. I think I deserve a prize for nagging.
