This is what I've done for some 20 years. Those little shears last a long
time if you can keep your spouse from pruning real trees with them!

Seriously - cutting down a Bb reed is *better* than using the store-bought
Eb ree. My Eb mouthpiece (Greg Smith) is designed to use Vandoren V12s cut
down. Before I got that, though, all of the stock Eb mouthpieces I had
worked better with the Bb reeds cut down.

Save some money, and play better!
