When I first subscribed to the klarinet list, back in 19-something,
I chose the digest option. I soon found it virtually unusable
because with all the quotes and quotes of quotes it was almost
impossible to tell where one message ended an another began. I
thought at the time it would be useful if the mailing list software
put a clear separator in between messages when constructing the
digest (something like '-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*...' for example). Then you
could use the search function to skip to the start of each message.

I soon gave up and changed to receiving individual messages.
