Would there be more discussions if the posters removed much of information in the previous messages? It is difficult when receiving the digest to see what is a new post and what is one of many questions and answers.

The basic e-mail (listserv) etiquette posted on other lists:

This is just a reminder to subscribers. Please be careful when replying to messages by including only essential parts of the original message(s). The long messages which sometimes include an entire string of comments may clog up individual mail in-boxes and cause all sorts of related problems. Most email systems allow you to edit the entire message--deleting unnecessary text, signature files, etc. which will help to shorten the new comment/message.
