Dear clarinettist,

we are pleased to announce the call for the 5th International Clarinet
Competition "Saverio Mercadante". We have the honor to have Mr. KARL LEISTER
as chairman of this edition 2009. The competition will take place from 15th
to 18th October 2009 in Noci (Bari - Italy) and consist of three sections:
Senior Soloists (born after 1974), Junior Soloists (born after 1991) and
Chamber Music with clarinet from duo to sextet (born after 1974). You can
find all information at www.associazioneaulos.com or you can receive rules
writing to info@-----. You can also find all results of the
previous edition with winner, jury and photogallery.

The Senior Soloists category of the last edition was won from Masaki Shirako
(Japan), 2nd prize Angelo Montanaro (Italy) and 3th prize Ivov Levent
(Bulgaria), instead the Junior Soloist category was won from Or Posti
(Israel), 2nd prize Mattia Aceto (Italy) and 3th prize Grigorios Vasileiadis
(Greece). In chamber music category we had two 1st prize ex aequo
Bacan-Butaru-Butean (clarinet, violin and piano from Romania) and Duo
Naglieri-Deljavan (clarinet and piano from Italy) and a 3th with Lucania
Quartet (Cammarota-Sulla-Clementelli-Cetera, clarinet quartet from Italy).
The Jury was composed from Alois Brandhofer (chairman - Austria), Luigi
Magistrelli (Italy), Ludmila Peterkova (Czech Republic), Antonio Tinelli
(Italy) and Romeo Tudorache (Romania).
