Having played all three parts {the piano part rather less than well)
of the Glinka Trio I do feel qualified to say that it really needs a
bassoon. However as bassoon was for a long while my principal
instrument I admit I may be prejudiced! Anyway it is a great piece
(even with 'cello and I think it is a natural choice for the proposed
concert.
