Subj: [kl] accoustical oddity, Selmer Artys A

I have Selmer Artys (10S) A clarinet, purchased new from WWBW. The
horn has remarkably stable intonation through almost the entire range,
and generally has a very nice, focused sound. The one exception is the
clarion G up to C: in this range, intonation is stable, but the tone
is oddly thin, and the resistance is noticeably greater. It's as if
the notes in that range have had their low-frequency components
filtered out.

I'm playing the horn with one of Walter Grabner's wonderful K11
mouthpieces, and either a Vandoren 56 Rue Le Pic 3.5+ or Grand Concert
Select 4 reed.

Has anyone had similar experience with this particular horn? Any and
all hints and suggestions for working with this problem would be
appreciated.

-Michael
