Why is it sometimes the case that an old Breitkopf part will have =
measure numbers, usually at the beginning of each staff, but the Kalmus =
reprint will not? I can't remember a specific instance, but I know it's =
happened sometimes in orchestras in which I've played that the strings =
may have Breitkopf parts while the winds have Kalmus parts, or _vice =
versa_, and lots of problems result as the wind players try to figure =
out starting spots in rehearsal fast enough to keep up with a conductor =
and string sections who have numbers in their parts.
