I use fingers on both hands to count rests, too, but specifically
using chisanbop hadn't occurred to me. What a neat idea! Thanks!

(Wish I knew about this trick when I played the orchestra version of
Wieniawski's Scherzo-Tarantelle--my part had something like 111
measures of rest with no cue notes)
