Sarah,

Practicing for ten minute intervals was a wise. You paced yourself and
got a feel for how to expend ten minutes of intense energy.

You have modestly missed one important point....you must be very
musical. You must have played musically and made musical sense to
whomever was auditioning you at that time.

Somehow, I get the impression that most of the story and most of the
savvy you mustered is the rest of the story.

Please give yourself credit for what was a most complex task and a
very involved intellectual (as well as a 10 minute physical) audition.

Will you please now go about writing your book on how to pass an
audition or succeed within a limited time frame.

Yours truly,
Richard Bush

Patricia,
When I was 18 I had to go to the army for two years. Since I was in
the Navy, I couldn't play at all.
I finished my service and had three weeks to prepare for an audition
to the Music Academy in Tel Aviv. I knew that the audition will be 10
min. and decided to practice 10 min. and rest a little and again. I
did it all day for three weeks and passed the audition. It works very
well for my students, who don't play during their service.
You don't have to play all day , but if you do it for an hour every
day, and a little more on your free day you will
be able to play much more soon.
Sarah
