Try: Musicophillia, Oliver Sacks. This book and "This is Your Brain on
Music" should be required reading for every public school administrator from
school counselors up to superintendents and board members!!!

Two great books on the same subject, one of which was suggested by my Piano
teacher, are: "This is your Brain on Music, the Science of a Human
Obsession" by Daniel J. Levitin, and Robert Jourdain's "Music, the Brain and
Ecstasy: How Music captures our imagination." Both a wonderful reads, not
quite as scholarly as this referred study, but all three, books and article
center on the same thing: The Brain and making music.

It is fascinating stuff to explore. Especially among us whose motor skills
aren't what they always need to be in playing a break or major chord.

To err IS human, but where is the audience or music director that has the
humility of heart to forgive?
