Well...opera season is over in Dallas. We're all pretty excited about =
going into the new hall next season. The orchestra members were invited =
to participate in a "hardhat" (we needed them) tour of the hall two =
weeks ago....and wow, our new "joint" is going to be some spectacular =
place. http://www.dallasperformingarts.org=20
Nice/fun free lance jobs now start for most of the opera orchestra =
members. I've been hired to play bass clarinet in Tyler, Texas with the =
East Texas Symphony Orchestra this weekend. They've hired Itzhak Perlman =
to perform Beethoven this weekend. Some real old East Texas oil money in =
play here.... http://www.etso.org =20
It should be fun. Open with Candide, then to Bernstein's West Side Story =
suite....break and then Perlman.
Weather is perfect so I'm riding my motorcycle into East Texas and =
camping at Tyler State Park. The schedule gives me time to do some =
riding in the beautiful "piney woods" area of East Texas. (good food in =
the small town cafes!...and cheap!!)
I hope the "extra" work in the Dallas/Ft. Worth arts stays steady....so =
far so good.
