Do you know, I _know_ this song, and for some reason it never occurred
to me ... I guess when Mark said, 'Organ', I was thinking of something
closer to a Hammond. (Now that I think of it, this kind of effect is
also used plentifully in Jeff Wayne's 'War of the Worlds' musical.)

This is really fascinating to see -- an aspect of synth/keyboard
technique I didn't even know existed. I'd been thinking that the
pitchwheel by itself was insufficient to explain the kind of slide
techniques in 'Lucky Man' (and elsewhere) -- and a live video on Youtube
which shows that Keith Emerson is obviously using glide as Jordan Rudess
describes:

The whole of Rudess' demo series is well worth watching, a great intro
to really expressive use of synthesisers and electronic keyboards.
