I had my gallbladder removed the same way last year. Since the
muscles one using for playing are mostly in the lower part of the
abdomen (if you are breathing correctly) then you can easily try
playing after two weeks and see how you feel. If it hurts, stop. If it
doesn't, you're on your way again. I wouldn't do pilates or stomach
crunches on the other hand. Or play NFL football.
