Subj: [kl] Amateur looking for chance to play

Hi,

I'm a not very advanced amateur (as in, "one who loves"), can read fairly well, mangle a few of the better known classics (e.g., Mozart Clarinet Quintet, Brahms) and play melodies of jazz standards by ear, do some improv, etc. Sound still could use work. Have taken with Tom Piercy (who can take all credit and none of the blame) on and off for 5 years.

I'd like to find some opportunities to play with other players, not just clarinet, for fun in NYC (Manhattan or Queens best), ideally with at least one person who knows how it all gets put together. Open to just about any genre. Also can play some guitar, keyboard. Neighbor just gave me a soprano sax.

Oh yeah, 55, married with children, day job (lawyer) in Manhattan. References available.

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
