A group of clarinetists from the Huntington Beach Concert Band was
scheduled to play at benefit concert for the group in the mid 1990s
and one of our members graciously gave his lesson time for a workshop
with Mr. Bloch at his home in Eaglerock (as I remember). Maybe it
was east L.A. It was one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences for
me always to be remembered and cherished.

I feel fortunate also to have seen him perform several unaccompanied
pieces during the Clarinet Fest in Vancouver a couple of years
ago. My condolences to all who knew him.
