I second the Brad Behn suggestion. The vintage rubber are out of my price
range, but I really like the medium facing artist series model I got this
year for just under $200. It is one of the best articulating mouthpieces I
have tried, and plays with little effort. I also liked the Grabner
mouthpieces.

In addition to the other excellent suggestions made - Walter Grabner,
Clark Fobes, Greg Smith, et al - I would suggest checking out Brad Behn.

I would suggest, based on your description, checking out the mouthpieces
on the 2nd site, but both are interesting to look at.
