Forest,

I actually agree with you on this.

This description that he gives is full of metaphors and dated facts.

However, there are still some things that he talks about that resonated
with how I felt when I made the decision to go with Wurlitzer.

I think the thing that gets me about buying from the big 3 is you will
still need to have a complete setup done by a very good tech. Really
good techs are so much in demand that they are expensive and there is a
waiting line is some cases.

I added up the money I had spent on mouthpieces, reeds, and these setups
and came close to what I paid for my Wurlitzer's. Now that the price of
high quality clarinets has gone up, the cost is just about equal to the
Leitner & Kraus clarinets that I purchased last year, and you get all
the other thrown in for the same price. I paid about $7500 each which
included a custom made double leather case.

All things being equal, I still made the decision I did based upon the
sound, which as we all know is impossible to describe through e-mail.
