I've never seen or heard of a clarinet cracking because of the use of =
Teflon tape.

Someone's note on the proper use....over existing cork....is important. =
The tape goes over the existing cork. The cork's compression is critical =
for the tape to work at all.

I've had Teflon tape on many of the joints of the many clarinets I =
own....for years without issue. Now and then, I replace a cork...when/if =
I have time. :-)
