By the way, on the topic of copyright hippies, Lawrence Lessig (who,
as fair use's greatest champion, may very well become the first law
professor ever to appear on a box of Wheaties) is apparently moving
(back) to Harvard next year. One amusing little bit of Lessig trivia
I just learned was that, although it's no secret that his positions on
copyright and other issues are decidedly left-of-center (at least by
American standards), one might not initially get that impression from
reading his resume--he apparently clerked for Richard Posner and
Justice Scalia!

Not as funny as Eisenhower nominating Earl Warren to be the Chief
Justice (and later Justice Brennan--even funnier) because he thought
the Court needed more conservative judges, but I still like the irony
of it. :-)
