Hi,=0D
=0D
I would like to know why you think cork will stop rocking and tape won't? =
If you =0D
have rocking, it is not a cork OR tape problem, but one caused by wearing a=
nd/or =0D
shrinkage of the wood of the tenon. Yes, I use tape on all of the joints a=
t the =0D
same time. The reason I do this is so that I can easily take the instrumen=
t apart =0D
for swabbing during a performance, if necessary, and to not have to replace=
corks =0D
or worry about them coming off. I carry a roll of tape with me. If for so=
me =0D
reason I need more, I can add it within seconds. And when I have been play=
ing in =0D
hot, humid and/or damp conditions, I don't have to worry about my instrumen=
t =0D
getting stuck together, and becoming hard to get apart. =0D
=0D
When I first started using the tape I had to replace it every few weeks or =
so. But =0D
once you get the hang of how to wrap it, it can last indefinitely. And you=
don't =0D
scrape off your corks, either. If they are there, then clean them of greas=
e with =0D
alcohol and wrap over the corks. If they are missing, wrap without them. =
It =0D
doesn't matter one way or the other. And if you would like lessons, they c=
an be =0D
arranged! ;?)))=0D
