Does this mean that when I pay Gary $50 for Schickele's Quartet for
piano, cello, violin and clarinet, I need to take the further step of
securing the copyright owner's permission to perform it in public? I
assumed that that's why I paid the $50, at least for a free
performance. Does it matter whether I perform it for (a) free; (b) a
"donation"; or (c) a fixed price ticket?
