I remember your explanations of 'obvious' physics from the Bulletin Board;-)

For the rest of us, however, the nub of the issue is roughly whether or not
there are more 'forked' fingerings in an F# minor arpeggio than there are
in an F minor arpeggio. And as I pointed out, that's a function of the
clarinet system.

It's a mystery, isn't it? However, I made a suggestion in the 2000 post I
referenced.
