Subj: [kl] mouthpiece question
Date: Fri, 30 Jan 2009 16:52:54 -0500

I have a Johnston mouthpiece (great mouthpiece!) made on a Zinner
blank. It looks like new underneath the mouthpiece patch and Rovner
ligature. All other parts have lost their shiny finish. The inside of
the mouthpiece still looks good. The mouthpiece still plays great.

The question is, am I doing something to cause this, or is this a normal
thing. I have never had this happen to another mouthpiece.

When I was it, I use a drop of Dawn in cool water. Nothing harsh.

Thanks, Deborah
