OK, but light travels a lot faster than sound, so there shouldn't be a
noticeable delay between a mic in front of someone's face and the video
taken from a hundred yards (or even two or three hundred) or so away.

Sometimes they do that in stadiums - especially noticeable with the big
in-house video screens which don't sync with the microphone sound or its
echoes - but even then the sound that gets broadcast is generally going
through mics in front of the speaker's face. This was a major international
event. I'd hope they had smarter technicians than that working it.

Maybe will happen in all the re-showings, but yesterday was live. It was a
little odd at times during the entry procession, though, to be seeing shots
of one immediately recognizable politician back inside the Capitol while
hearing the sound of some other dignitary being introduced to the crowd
outside.
