The American Chamber Ensemble Presents Elie Siegmeister at 100 – A
Master of American Music Concert on January 15 at Massapequa Public Library

The American Chamber Ensemble's Elie Siegmeister Birthday Celebration -
Elie at 100 – A Master of American Music concert will take place on
Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Massapequa Public Library, 40
Harbor Lane in Massapequa Park, New York

This concert, presented in cooperation with the Elie Siegmeister
Society, will be a celebration and survey of Great Neck-resident Elie
Siegmeister’s career, including selections from his chamber works, solo
piano compositions, songs and movements from concertos (in versions for
soloist and piano). The evening will feature the first public
performances of Siegmeister’s Trio for Flute, Clarinet & Bassoon,
composed in 1928, and his Jewish Scherzo for Clarinet & Bassoon,
composed in 1932 and revised in 1944.

Performers for this concert will include ACE Director, clarinetist Naomi
Drucker, who will be joined by ACE members pianist Marilyn Sherman
Lehman, flutist Denise Lozano Healey, oboist Lynne Cohen and bassoonist
Braden Toan.

Special guests will be Helene Williams, soprano and Leonard Lehrman, piano.

Several of the performers will speak about their friendship with this
great American composer.

The American Chamber Ensemble explores the great chamber music
literature for clarinet and piano in combination with strings, woodwinds
and voice and presents performances featuring world-class artists. ACE

of this modern master’s most important chamber works.
