Yeah, flute is a necessary evil ;-) I'm lucky because I also play oboe,
so I don't have to play too much flute!

I agree somewhat, although some say that your weakest double should be your
best instrument (and Powell is making a great intermediate model these
days... check out Sonare)

Well, I mentioned the Sonare (by Powell), it's a *great* flute for the
money... I play on a Yamaha 684 with a Staubinger headjoint (the headjoint
is absolutely the most important part for a good sound), so I'll throw in
my vote for Yamaha as well (but with a better headjoint)
