Interesting points about sitting on the edge of the chair as they are
probably all true.

however, i was tall for my age, as my legs where fine sitting in a chair all
the way back, as my two previous teachers from 1962 did not have me do this.

Mr. Eberly had me do this till i was 18, as it is a good habit i still do.

maybe he had his students do this to keep them fully alert in playing.
