Does every musical artist have to consult you, so that their musical
creations pass your narrow definition of "music"?

Rap is an art form...a musical art form. At the core, rap has current
cultural issues at heart. I don't believe that these issues disqualify it as

an art form...or make it non-music. If that's the case for you...I believe
you have a very narrow definition of what music is or could be. Rap is (in
fact) a musical art form....with millions of participants.

You have made it clear that you are not and have no desire to be one of
those that participate. That's ok....but to deride the art form and fail to
understand the form's root origin and importance...is not exactly what I
would call valid argument (disagree?). Simply say, "I don't like it"....and
let it go.

I'm not a big fan of rap....although I've heard some very amazing things in
the genre. I do think it's important to listen, understand and appreciate
art that others produce and many others embrace. You don't have to like
it...again...that's ok.
