Wait you're suggesting that people who like rap are the small group of
folks who want to be thought of as "different?" I thought that dubious
distinction belonged to classical music elitists. "ooooh look at me,
I'm SO CULTURED I frown on your popular genre. I'm going to go lock
myself in a practice room now and have deep emotions."

Conservatory students and emo screamers, in my experience, are pretty
closely related species.
