This is only the same old argument. ie Jazz is music. Beethoven's 9th
is bad Jazz. Therefore Beethoven's 9th is bad music. I've not
discovered a good definition for "music" yet although the late
Humphrey Procter- Gregg's "an ordered succession of sounds designed
to elicit an emotional response" seems as good as any, and that makes
no mention of rhythm, melody or harmony.
