No such support being claimed, but that edition's contents might explain
why some people (mistakenly) think that the piece was originally scored
for contrabassoon.

In his own words,

This posthumous publication frequently conflicts with the
autograph score. It is uncertain to what extent the
discrepancies originated with Mozart. We have therefore
taken the autograph as our only source.
