The fourth annual Claremont Clarinet Festival, a weeklong workshop of
daily master classes and private coaching that culminates in three
public performances, will take place June 7-14 on the beautiful Southern
California campus of Pomona College, in Claremont, California.

Participation is open to advanced adult players: young artists, adult
amateurs, college students, music educators, and exceptional high school
seniors. Limited to a group of 22 clarinetists, the workshop has an
intimate and familial atmosphere and master classes are run in a
collegial style. Clarinet coaches and professional pianist/coaches offer
much personal attention as participants study, rehearse, and perform
repertoire for clarinet and piano or clarinet alone, as well as in
clarinet ensembles.

Masterclass leaders will be Margaret Thornhill and guests Gary Gray,
Professor of Clarinet at UCLA, and David Howard, bass clarinetist of the
Los Angeles Philharmonic.

2009 Applications and further information may be found on the website:

A CD, cassette or DVD of two contrasting works is required for first
time applicants.
Applications will be accepted through March 1, 2009.
