You are probably going to get 50 answers, all of which will say, "GET THE
LOW C MODEL!!!!!"
There are five reasons why:
1. The literature calls for it. I found low C's in Sousa Marches.
2. If you stop playing for some reason, it will be a lot easier to sell if
it is a low C instrument.
3. The additional wood added to enable the low C, changes the timbre of the
entire instrument to the better.
4. If you don't get the low C model, a team of 50 clarinet players will show
up at your house and hurl insults at you.
5. You can use the instrument as a double for bassoon which calls for its
low B-flat frequently, and that is the same note as the low C on the bass
clarinet.
