I would like to invite you to check out my composition =93Regal =20
Variations=94 for flute and clarinet. This piece was composed during =20
2008 for the Ballif Duo, consisting of Kristi Ballif, flute and Adam =20
Ballif, clarinet. It was premiered by them on Nov. 5, 2008 at Mesa =20
State College in Grand Junction, CO. The inspiration for the work was =20=

Edward Elgar=92s =93Enigma Variations=94. Elgar created a marvelous set =
of =20
variations that treat the theme symphonically by varying the motivic =20
ideas instead of just keeping the form of the theme constant and =20
building the variations on that structure. The result is a set of =20
variations that are connected, yet varied in mood. =93Regal Variations=94 =
=20
is smaller in both instrumentation and the number of variations, but =20
it tries to capture the symphonic quality of Elgar=92s work. The title =20=

is an anagram of Elgar=92s name.

Other compositions of mine that use flute and clarinet in chamber =20
music that might interest you are:

Kaleidoscope for flute and clarinet (flutes doubles on pic. & alto =20
fl., Bb clar. doubles on Eb clar. & bs. clar.)
In The Land of Wonder-Wander for flute, clarinet, cello and piano
Scenes from Tom Sawyer for flute, clarinet, and piano
Three Jazzy Pieces for flute, clarinet, and cello
