Yes, however it has been quite often that the members of "the big 5" taught
most of the members of the "non-big 5".
And it's still very evident that is the case. Not always of course, but a
lot.

The big 5 is a myth. It was hardly true when it was relevant, and it
hasn't been a standard in American orchestras for over 30
years. There are many great orchestras in the US, and the "old 5"
are neither the oldest, highest-paid, or (especially) the best 5
orchestras. Even limiting it to 5 is absurd.
