It seems so reasonable to approach this "universal" saxophone method....from
another direction....

I would work/teach using scale/arpeggio/technical studies (there are
zillions of very fine books of this type available for saxophone) and then
etude books (there are zillions of excellent books of this type as
well)...adding relevant literature/repertory as needed/ready/etc.

I've found that most "universal" type "all purpose" volumes never really get
the job done as well as using multiple sources. You can target both general,
as well as specific issues, as you learn. You can certainly learn to play
using the "universal" method book....but....
