Hi Dan,

Yes I'm aware of the bass part in A, and will be cheating by providing a
transposition, unless Forest and Walter Grabner show up! Actually I have
played it in a workshop in England; it is difficult, *especially* for the
horns. But I think you are mistaken about the oboe/basset duet in the slow
movement - that is in the Happy Workshop, which in fact I found to be a
harder piece on the basset horn.

>Keith, the Invalid's Workshop is a particularly difficult piece, much more
so than the Happy Workshop. Be aware that the bass clarinet part is in A
and in the bass clef, so you will need someone who can deal with that
transposition. The slow movement of the work has a complicated duet for
oboe and basset horn.

>As a work, the Invalid's Workshop is best enjoyed by the performers, who
marvel at the work's intricacies, and deservedly so. Audiences find it
off-putting.

I do agree. This is for US!

>If I am free, I may come just to listen to the final performance. It is a
work worth the trip.

That would be great. We'll try not to put you off!

Keith

>> Hallo all,
