Not wishing to make a big deal out of it, but in my book, "Opus Ultimum, The
Store of the Mozart Requiem" (Algora Press, NY), I bring up the issue of the
number of trombones required for the Requiem. And it is possible to lay a
case for 4 trombones, the top one a soprano trombone, which is also called a
soprano trumpet. The evidence to suggest this is in the autograph and I give
the details in my book.
