I have an old Hite, which played on my 1970ish Selmer Eb very well -
in tune into the altissimo with little difficulty. I "replaced" it
with an expensive Fobes, which has a great sound **and** good
intonation response.

My Eb colleague in the RSO and I both tried various Vandorens with
not as much success, though, as always, YMMV.
