Hello, dear Clarinet friends,

Looking for double reed, conical bore, instruments, you should also consider
the sarrussophone : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarrusophone .

Long time since forgotten, I am afraid, but it had raised some attention at
the end of 19th, beginning of 20th century.

Regards,
Christophe.

An several have just been announced for sale on the contabassoon list.
However, I think that only the bass or contabass can be played with a double reed
but I may be wrong. A new one was made by Orsi for the movie the Mummy and
it played with a double reed but the historical one have the option to play
with a tuba like mouth piece.
