I tried a "low" G clarinet at Lark in the Morning some years ago. It was
a miserable metal beast. You would need to have large hands to play it
as the stretch to reach the tone hole for the third finger of the left
hand was very painful for me.

Yes, That is there (Lark) cheap model. The carry the Amanti G clarinet as
does the woodwind and Brasswind but since I play bassoon/ oboe mostly Amanti
has a poor reputation with bassoons, especially their contrabassoon. I have a
Fox which is on the high side expense wise and Adler and Amanti sell a rather
inexpensive contrabassoon that are both rather poor in almost every respect
so I wanted to ask the list about their clarinets.
