Performers: clarinetists Laura DeLuca, Sean Osborn, Jennifer Nelson,
Florie Rothenberg, Mary Kantor, and pianist Rhonda Kline.

Clarinettissimo!, an all-day clarinet event at the University of
Washington will take place on Sunday, October 12 from 2-8:30 PM, and
is FREE to the public.

This year's event features clarinet master classes by UW clarinet
teacher and former Metropolitan Opera Orchestra clarinetist Sean
Osborn, and Seattle Symphony Orchestra clarinetist Laura DeLuca;
displays featuring equipment to try and buy; an Avant Garde concert
featuring clarinetists Jennifer Nelson, Florie Rothenberg, Mary
Kantor, and Sean Osborn; and a clarinet choir that anyone is free to
participate in as the finale of the concert.

The concert will start with Carl Maria von Weber's Clarinet Concerto
No. 2, which was Avant Garde when it was written, progress through
John Cage's solo clarinet work, continue with Eric Mandat's Folk
Songs, round out with Astor Piazzolla's L'Historie du Tango, and end
with the clarinet choir.

to perform in either master class, and specify clarinet or bass
clarinet. Participation is subject to availability. You should
provide your own accompanist if you want to use one, though they are
not required.
