Hi Keith -- I noted that too. I'm still going to go for the full basset
instrument simply because the price difference actually isn't too big
and frankly I don't want to ship my (very nice and treasured) A clarinet
to the US and back! ;-)
In the long run I will probably get either Steve Fox or Howarth's to
make an extension for said treasured instrument(*), but right now my
budget is constrained ... and I have an ongoing project I'd really like
to have a basset (and bass) clarinet for.
(*) Actually I think with respect to Steve's instruments a basset horn
is the first intended purchase, and has been for ages and ages ...
