Palisades Virtuosi Presents PV Goes Green Concert on September 27,
Featuring World Premiere by Amanda Harberg

Ridgewood, NJ - The critically-acclaimed Palisades Virtuosi presents PV
Goes Green, their season opening concert on Saturday, September 27, 2008
- 8 PM at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place in
Ridgewood, New Jersey

Featured nature-related works will include the World Premiere of Amanda
Harberg’s Birding in the Palisades (commissioned by the Palisades
Virtuosi) along with Trois Avians by Messiaen, Mark Phillips’ Rain Dance
for flute and tape, Alex Shapiro’s Desert Thoughts for flute, clarinet &
piano, Robert Manno’s Three Scenes from the Mountains (2004:
commissioned by Palisades Virtuosi) and Kristopher Spike’s Papillons for
flute, clarinet & piano.

Every concert by the Palisades Virtuosi includes a work commissioned by
the ensemble.

Tickets for this concert are $20 and $15 for students and seniors. For

A native of Philadelphia, Amanda Harberg has performed and had her music
performed in Lincoln Center, Carnegie’s Weill Hall, the Juilliard
School, the Eastman School’s Women in Music Festival, the National Flute
Convention, the New York State Piano Teachers Convention at Ithaca
College, the National Theory Convention at Skidmore College, the MLA
Convention, the Chautauqua Music Festival, Interlochen Center for the
Arts, the Woodmere Art Museum, and many other universities and recitals

The Palisades Virtuosi, consisting of flutist Margaret Swinchoski,
clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy, is a 501 (c)(3)
organization established to promote and enrich the repertoire for flute,
clarinet and piano and present concerts that include existing and
newly-commissioned repertoire for this configuration, supplemented by
solos, duos and larger works featuring guest artists. Volumes One and
