Maybe so, but isn't it simpler, as well as more accurate, to say blow =
harder or softer?

It's easy enough to blow hard with warm air on your hand, or to blow lightly
with cool air too.
The concept makes sense. Clarinet uses cool air, Sax uses warm.
Then again, Wurlitzer suggests to use warm air for Clarinet..............
(per Michele Zukovsky). So there are
different schools on that too.
