Subj: [kl] Toxic mouthpieces?
Date: Thu, 18 Sep 2008 14:35:59 -0400

Hey all,
In corresponding with the Pomarico mouthpiece company, I was told:
"We discovered that
hard rubber, when begins to change colour, become toxic...so we
decided to
keep only our crystal line and a small line of ebony wood mouthpieces."

Has anyone else heard of this? Every rubber mouthpiece I've ever
played has turned at least green, if not yellowish brown. I think
they do this from exposure to the sun. Any mouthpiece makers/refacers
want to weigh in on this?
