American Chamber Ensemble Gala Annual Music Party on September 21 at
Hofstra University

Hempstead, NY - The critically-acclaimed American Chamber Ensemble will
present its Gala Annual Music Party on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 3
PM on the 10th Floor of Hofstra University's Axinn Library in Hempstead,
New York.

Program selections include works by Elie Siegmesiter, Leonard Bernstein,
Rebecca Clarke, Julie Mandel, young Long Island composer David Lawrence,
Beethoven and Max Bruch.

Performers will include guest artists Stanley Drucker, clarinetist,
Karen Lehman, soprano and the ACE Clarinet Ensemble, who will join
pianist Blanche Abram, clarinetist Naomi Drucker and other members of
ACE in a program of informal music making that will preview the upcoming
season.

Admission to the Gala Annual Music Party is by contribution only.

Members of the American Chamber Ensemble are Directors Blanche Abram,
piano and Naomi Drucker, clarinet, along with Marilyn Sherman Lehman,
piano, Eriko Sato, violin, Deborah Wong, violin, Lois Martin, viola,
Chris Finckel, cello, Denise Lozano Healey, flute, Braden Toan, bassoon,
Leonard Hindel, bassoon, Lynne Cohen, oboe and Eva Conti, French horn.

The American Chamber Ensemble explores the great chamber music
literature for clarinet and piano in combination with strings, woodwinds
and voice and presents performances featuring world-class artists. ACE
consists of the finest freelance musicians in the New York area and has
been cited by critics for their superb presentations of chamber
masterworks. Their latest CDs on Elysium are American Clarinet
Treasures, featuring core members of ACE performing works by George
Kleinsinger, Virgil Thomson, Daniel Gregory Mason, Elliott Carter,
Douglas Moore and Gary Schocker, with Guest Artist Stanley Drucker and
The American Chamber Ensemble Plays Peter Schickele, which features five
of this modern master’s most important chamber works.

ACE concerts are supported by the Hofstra Music Department, and assisted
with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state
agency, and private contributions.
