I highly recommend Jack Brymer's abridged=A0version for A clarinet. I've al=
ways liked the piece, but felt it goes on a bit too long (those deceptive c=
adences!).=A0JB shortens the piece considerably and moves some melodic mate=
rial to the piano to spell off the clarinetist's=A0chops.=A0When I played=
=A0it at a university recital a couple of years ago, it was the hit of the =
show! It starts in the A clarinet's C minor, and the clarinet part is 7 pag=
es. Published 1980 by Josef Weinberger.=0A=0AFor those in the Toronto area,=
it's on the bill in a couple of weekends at a recital I'm playing at the M=
cMichael=A0Gallery in Kleinburg, I'll do up a separate post about that and =
a big orchestra concert for those who may be interested.=0A=A0=0APeter Stol=
